Character Builds
Tailor your loadout to your playstyle — from pure melee tanks to glass-cannon mages.
One More Delve’s three weapon slots and two hand-slot spells create a surprisingly deep build system. Unlike class-based games, your build is defined by which weapons you carry into a dungeon and how you use them.
Core Build Types
Melee Build
The most reliable damage output in One More Delve. Pair a one-handed sword with a shield for maximum survivability, or go two-handed for raw damage at the cost of a defensive option. Melee requires deliberate, full swings — frantic waving will phase weapons through enemies.
Best for: Players who want consistent damage, learn enemy attack patterns, and enjoy the tactile satisfaction of physical combat.
Key tip: Keep your shield up when enemies close in. Parry timing was significantly improved in the May 2026 patch.
Magic Build
Magic is currently the most polished combat system in One More Delve. Assign fire or lightning to each hand, then thrust forward to cast. No gestures needed — just point and push.
Best for: Burst damage on bosses, ranged safety, and players who find physical swinging tiring.
Key tip: Mana depletes fast. Use magic to open boss encounters with maximum burst, then switch to a melee weapon once your pool runs dry.
Hybrid Build
Combine a one-handed weapon on your left hand with a spell equipped to your right. This gives you flexible options in every encounter and is the most popular build among co-op players.
Solo Build
Survival is the priority when running alone. Stack health potions on your belt, use a shield, and lean on magic for hard encounters. The social hub gives you space to craft better gear between solo runs.
Co-op Build
Coordinate with your team. Classic tank-DPS-support roles emerge naturally in three-player groups: one player holds the front with a shield and spear, another wades in with a two-handed weapon, and the third focuses on magic and healing-adjacent spells.
See the Co-op Guide and Tier List for more details.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.
What is the best beginner build in One More Delve?
Start with a sword-and-shield melee build. It gives you the most consistent damage while teaching you enemy patterns. Pair it with one fire spell on your right hand for emergency burst damage.
Can I switch builds mid-dungeon?
Yes. Your loadout is not locked. Between encounters, reach for different weapons from your belt or shoulder holster to adapt to the current room. Just remember to grip the trigger to properly equip them.
What build works best for Dungeon Level 5?
Dungeon Level 5 has difficulty settings. For higher difficulty, a hybrid build with shield and spell gives you the most adaptability. Solo players should prioritize survival gear and potions.
Do two-handed weapons auto-attack if I hold the trigger?
Two-handed weapons require holding triggers on both controllers to use properly. They deal more damage than one-handed options but are slower and more physically demanding.
