Weapons & Combat

Every weapon type in One More Delve — from one-handed blades to two-handed hammers.

Last updated:

One More Delve features a diverse arsenal of weapons across three categories: melee, ranged, and magic. Weapons are distributed across your three holster slots: left hand, right hand, and shoulder. Your choice of loadout dramatically changes how each dungeon encounter plays out.

Weapon Categories

Melee Weapons

One-handed swords and axes are the backbone of most players’ loadouts. They deal reliable damage with fast swing cycles. The basic longsword starts at 5 base damage. Crafted upgrades add +1, +2, and +3 damage tiers.

Two-Handed Weapons

Hammers and axes require both controllers and cannot be used with a shield. They deal significantly more damage per hit but swing slower. Best for players who have learned enemy patterns and can safely commit to a full swing.

Ranged Weapons

The bow requires manual nocking — grab an arrow with your off-hand, position it on the bow, draw, and release. The lack of a crosshair makes aiming difficult. Flintlock pistols (added in the 1.0 release) offer a simpler ranged alternative without nocking complexity.

Weapon Slots

You have three holsters:

  • Left hand: Primary melee weapon or shield
  • Right hand: Secondary weapon or spell
  • Shoulder: Backup weapon or bow

To equip, reach for the holster and grip the trigger to pick up the weapon.

Damage Mechanics

Damage scales with swing force. Full, deliberate swings register maximum damage. Half-swings may deal reduced damage or miss entirely. Mid-swing collisions with enemy bodies can negate the hit. The May 2026 patch improved hit registration by making weapon handguards deal damage — eliminating one class of phantom hits.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

How do I increase weapon damage?

Craft upgraded weapons from blueprints dropped by enemies. Each upgrade tier adds +1 to the weapon's base damage. There is no character level — all progression comes from gear.

Should I use a shield or two-handed weapon?

Shields give you a defensive option and make melee significantly safer. Two-handed weapons deal more damage but remove your shield. For most players, sword and shield is the better choice.

How does the bow work in One More Delve?

The bow requires manual nocking: grab an arrow with your off-hand, position it on the bowstring, draw back, and release. There is no crosshair. This makes the bow the highest-skill weapon in the game.

What are Flintlock pistols?

Added in the 1.0 release, Flintlock pistols are a new ranged weapon class. They fire immediately upon trigger pull without the nocking complexity of bows, making them more accessible for ranged combat.
