Sprint & Stamina Guide

How the sprint system works, stamina costs, and when to sprint in dungeons.

Last updated:

Sprinting was introduced in the May 8, 2026 update as One More Delve’s first dedicated movement option beyond standard walking. It uses a stamina system that adds a resource management layer to movement.

How to Sprint

Press the left thumbstick forward to begin sprinting. Your movement speed increases significantly.

Stamina System

Sprinting consumes stamina from your stamina bar. The bar is separate from your health and mana bars.

Stamina Bar

Your stamina bar is visible in the HUD. It depletes while sprinting and regenerates when you are not sprinting.

Stamina Cost

Sprinting at full speed drains the stamina bar in approximately 8-10 seconds of continuous sprinting.

Stamina Regeneration

Stamina regenerates automatically when you are not sprinting. Full regeneration takes approximately 15 seconds from empty.

Strategic Uses

Dungeon Navigation

After clearing a room, sprinting to the next area saves time. Be aware of your stamina level — do not sprint into the next room with no stamina if there are enemies waiting.

Escaping Overwhelming Combat

If you are surrounded by enemies and low on health, sprinting can create distance for potion use. Do not sprint directly into more enemies — use corners and doorways to break line of sight.

Boss Fights

Sprinting has limited use in boss fights because most boss attacks lock you in place or require precise positioning. Sprinting during the Dragon Lord aerial phase to dodge breath attacks is one of the few effective uses.

Sprinting and Combat

The primary risk of sprinting in dungeons is entering a new room with no stamina while enemies are waiting. Always check your stamina bar before entering unexplored areas.

In co-op, communicate your stamina status to teammates. A player who sprints into a room and has no stamina cannot defend themselves.

Enemy Behavior Change

The May 8 update also changed enemy behavior: enemies now move away from players who get too close, making it slightly easier to create space. This change makes sprinting slightly safer than it was at launch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

When was sprinting added to One More Delve?

Sprinting was added in the May 8, 2026 update. Before this update, there was no sprint function — movement speed was fixed.

How do I sprint?

Press the left thumbstick forward to sprint. Sprinting uses stamina and increases your movement speed significantly.

Does sprinting use stamina?

Yes. Sprinting consumes stamina from your stamina bar. When stamina is depleted, you cannot sprint until it regenerates.

What is the best way to use sprinting in dungeons?

Use sprinting to close distance on scattered enemies, escape when overwhelmed, or reach the boss room faster after clearing a dungeon. Do not sprint through combat — the stamina cost leaves you vulnerable.
