When to Use Fire Spells

Boss Fights

Fire is the superior opening spell for all bosses. The burst damage window at the start of every boss fight is the single most valuable use of your mana. A full mana dump on a boss in Phase 1 can deal 20-25% of the boss’s health before melee combat begins.

Undead Enemies

The Dungeon 3 and Dungeon 4 bosses are undead-type enemies. Fire spells deal approximately 20% bonus damage against these enemies, making fire the mathematically superior choice in those encounters.

Single High-Value Targets

Fire is more efficient than lightning for eliminating a single high-health enemy because of its higher per-cast damage. Use fire on enemy elites and mini-bosses.

How to Cast Fire Spells

Equip your fire spell to one of your two hand slots (left or right hand). To cast:

  1. Grip the hand that has the fire spell equipped.
  2. Raise your arm toward the target.
  3. Press the trigger to cast.

Fire spells are point-and-shoot — there is no projectile arc or travel time. The spell fires instantly in the direction your hand is pointing.

Mana Management

With approximately 100 total mana, you can cast fire 6-7 times before depletion. Strategy:

  • Open every boss fight with 4-5 fire casts (60-75 mana)
  • Reserve 25-40 mana for emergency situations during the rest of the fight
  • Do not cast fire spells on groups of weak enemies — a single melee swing is more mana-efficient

Fire vs Lightning

Lightning chains to a nearby enemy if one is within approximately 3 meters of your primary target. For dungeon crawling (clearing rooms), lightning is more efficient. For boss fights, fire is superior.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

How much damage does the fire spell deal in One More Delve?

The fire spell deals approximately 8-12 damage per hit, depending on whether the enemy's weak point is struck. It is the highest single-hit damage spell in the game.

Is fire magic better than lightning for boss fights?

Fire magic is generally preferred for boss fights because it has higher burst damage per cast and undead-type enemies (Lich bosses) take bonus damage from fire.

Does the fire spell set enemies on fire?

No. One More Delve's fire spell is a projectile blast — it does not apply a burning damage-over-time effect.

How do I refill mana faster?

Mana regenerates automatically over time. There is no way to speed up regeneration. Manage your mana pool strategically — do not cast spells on groups of weak enemies when a single melee swing would suffice.
