Tiers

Weapons Tier List

Every weapon ranked by community consensus — updated for 1.0.

Last updated:

The weapons tier list ranks every weapon in One More Delve based on dungeon performance. Physics-based combat means actual player skill with each weapon type is the primary variable — but some weapons are objectively easier to use effectively.

S Tier: Top Performers

Magic (Fire & Lightning)

The most polished combat system in the game. Consistent damage, no collision phasing issues, works at range. The only weakness is mana depletion. Best for: all player skill levels, all dungeon levels.

Sword & Shield

The most reliable melee setup. Sword provides clean damage arcs; shield gives a defensive option. After the May 2026 parry rework, blocking is significantly easier. Best for: beginners and veterans alike.

A Tier: Strong Options

Two-Handed Axes

Higher damage than one-handed options but slower. Requires both controllers. Best for: players who have learned enemy patterns and can safely swing a large weapon.

Two-Handed Hammers

Slower than axes but some players find the arc more intuitive. Best for: players who prefer impact over speed.

B Tier: Situational

Bow & Arrow

High skill ceiling. Requires manual arrow nocking (grab arrow with off-hand, nock, draw, release). No crosshair makes precise aiming difficult. Best for: players who invest the time to learn the system.

Flintlock Pistols (1.0)

New weapon class from the 1.0 release. Provides ranged damage without the nocking complexity of bows. Assessment pending further community data.

C Tier: Needs Improvement

Basic Starting Sword (pre-upgrade)

The default sword deals low damage. Replace it as soon as you craft your first upgrade. This is not a knock on swords as a category — just the base-tier starting version.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about One More Delve.

Why is magic S tier?

Magic has no physics-based swing requirement, no collision phasing issues, works at range, and was described by multiple review sources as the most polished combat system in the game. Its only limitation is the mana pool.

Is the bow actually usable?

Yes, but it requires significant practice. The lack of a crosshair and the manual nocking process make it the highest-skill weapon in the game. XR Source noted it as one of the weakest combat options for this reason.

Are Flintlock pistols better than bows?

Flintlock pistols eliminate the nocking complexity of bows and provide immediate ranged options. Early community consensus leans toward pistols being more practical, though the 1.0 release is too recent for definitive tier placement.
